  General Information
Registration:
Fill out our 3 download-able forms and mail them to us with your $290 tuition fee. Tuition is refundable through Tuesday, May 31, 2011, minus an $80 registration fee. Class sizes are limited & filled on a first come, first served basis. Your class schedule will be mailed to you prior to camp.
Be sure to mail in all 3 forms with your tuition.

Meals:
Bring your own lunch for noon break. Water bottle & afternoon snack are recommended.

If your child is 8 or 9 years old:
All campers 8 or 9 must be accompanied by a parent or a designated guardian. The experience for kids this age is much more meaningful if they have someone to help them navigate the week.

For Safety's Sake: Closed Campus.
Students of any age may not leave campus unless they are accompanied by a parent or a designated adult, or have a written note from a parent or designated adult.
Parents, especially of teens, please discuss this with your children.

Scholarships:
Scholarships are available for a portion of the camp tuition. Call Mary Schallert at: (907) 351-3791, or e-mail her at mschallert@acsalaska.net for more information. Scholarships are awarded based on community involvement in folk music and on financial need.

Counselor Positions:
Participants 14-17 years old with past camp experience may apply for counselor positions. Counselors help set the tone of the camp, serve as examples and moral support for younger students, assist instructors and assist with the day-to-day operations of the camp. Counselors this year will have the opportunity to be in a Camp Photography class. Be sure to check the Counselor Position box in the middle of the Registration form!

Volunteer Opportunites:
Much help is needed to make this camp possible and to keep costs down. Indicate on the Registration form when you would like to help.

For more information contact Merideane Kennison, Volunteer Coordinator at 907-345-0184 to speak with her directly.
Electronic Devices:
Computer games should stay home, but recording devices may be used to record classes and lessons. Cell phones must be turned off during class.

Instruments:
Students are responsible for providing their own instruments in the classes they are taking. Label every item and instrument that goes to the camp. Put a card inside the case for good measure. If you want to try a class for which you don't have an instrument, don't be discouraged. First try all of your own resources. If you are unsuccessful, we can try to connect you with someone willing to loan you an instrument for the week. Our Instrument Loan Coordinator this is year is Anita Persson. She can be reached at 907-336-3013 after June 1st, 2011. It is your responsibility to make that connection and have it ready for camp on the first day, and then get it back to the person who loaned it to you.

Evening Programs:
Tuesday and Thursday evenings will feature events that the whole family can enjoy. Parents are responsible for supervising their own kids at these events.

This year adult Folk Arts classes will be available to everyone in the community on Monday and Tuesday evenings. These classes will be held at St. Mary's. To pre-register email Mary Schallert at mschallert@acsalaska.net.

Special Note to All:

Camp is loads of fun, but it can be intense. During that week, we recommend keeping other activities to a minimum so the participants can concentrate and get the most out of the experience.
All-Campus Activities are for the whole family.
